The nurses were very good when they were present. The doctor was friendly and good as well, although she probably should have come more than the 3 or 4 times out of the months mom was declining. AlsoI feel there should have been more support for my mom spiritually and mentally. She was on hospice quite a while and only got two visits from the chaplain. He was not the one who followed up with the family after she passed, nor did he attend her memorial. We have had no offer of any program or counseling on ‘coping’ with our loss.

I love volunteering for the hospice services department. I have been a hospice volunteer for 13 years. Wonderful experience.

This is my 3rd hospice ive had to sign with since my terminal cancer diagnosis and they are hands down the absolute BEST CHOICE TO BRING INTO YOUR HOME! Hospice is all about COMFORT CARE, and I have found heartland will go above and beyond to ensure you get EXACTLY THAT, they never let me suffer and always on top of my medications ensuring I don't sit at home in excruciating pain like my previous hospice would get annoyed and treat me like a criminal for asking for something more to get rid of the pain. Heartland's entire staff is Extremely kind and I have come to think of them as like family due toì their compassion and understanding especially when it comes down to my children being comfortabl . That's the above and beyond they care about EVERYONE INVOLVED IN YOUR SITUATION! IT'S SAFE TO SAY I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HEARTLAND IF YOUR CONSIDERING HOSPICE FOR SOMEONE YOU LOVE OR YOURSELF. LOOK NOFURTHER you've found a winner if your reading this!

I'll start by saying the nurses were good. That's the best I have to say. I only chose them for my mother's hospice care because the person who answered my initial call said they had a hospice facility for her to go to towards the end. This is not true. There is no onsite hospice facility in Wichita. One of the very first things I said we needed was help with hygiene, which in the two weeks we got their services, she never got. The aides call at random times, say they're coming, then call you back 4 hours later and say they got busy. After my mom fell several times we asked the social worker, who happened to be there that day, for longer bed rails. Which didn't come until she fell several more times and I called back demanding them. They put her on morphine right away, even though she wasn't really in pain, and seemed to speed up her failing health, not sure if that's a blessing in disguise or not, but it seemed alarming. I also didn't expect to have a constant, daily parade of multiple people through my home, interviewing us constantly. It was a lot. It felt intrusive. I wouldn't recommend this hospice.
