If youre African American run for your life. I almost lost my life as well as my child. I was a very high risk pregnancy bleeding and sick, I stayed there for two week. I had to change my own sheets and beddings, when I asked for my bathroom to be cleaned the security was called on me. I have all these things on video. I set a camera up in my room just in case I lost my life, so my family could know what happened to me. There are other hospitals for high risk pregnancies avoid this one, They will mistreat you and chart otherwise to cover themselves when something happens to you.

Absolutely phenomenal Hospital & Staff, they took such good care of me when I had my daughter! The nurses were the sweetest and the lactation specialist on hand was so helpful! The rooms were nice and private and the shower was so nice!!!! I wouldnt be mad if I had all my babies here!

**Updated Sept 2023: I just realized I never posted an update. My son was born literally 7 days after I posted this. The only thing I would change if I could go back in time is that I would sue the hospital. Still shocked and angry they expected a laboring mother to wear a mask almost three years post Covid. The unnecessary trauma I suffered here was horrible. I could not deliver at another hospital that far into my pregnancy but look back, I should have brought legal action against the nurse, at least. I never followed up with postnatal care at my midwife either due to mask mandates in the middle of Summer. I refuse. I came here last night with labor complications and nurse Jessica was a nightmare. She insisted I wear a mask during contractions that were 2 minutes apart and told me it was because she has gotten Covid before from the hospital. I asked about having a Covid test so I could take it off and she ignored me. To be told by the nurse she cares more about herself (when there was a simple solution-Covid test) than the well-being of my son and I is unacceptable. My oxygen saturation kept dipping when I wore the mask and she asked me several times if I had asthma or sleep apnea (which I dont). I told her that the oxygen saturation dips when I have a mask on because I cant breathe through the contractions with it on. When the mask was off, it was back up to 97%. When I told her this, she became combative and spoke down to me telling me she wore the mask X amount of hours a day and shes fine. I informed her shes not in labor, gasping for breath, and panicking from the pain. She was rude. I also waited in L&D triage for 3 hours before I was given any pain medication, despite the fact that my contractions were 2 minutes apart, and completely excruciating. I started crying uncontrollably after 3 hours when two completely strange doctors came in to poke and prod me. I asked for my midwife and Jessica informed me they dont call the midwife until Im admitted, and I basically had to deal with the lack or privacy. It was unacceptable and I ended up begging for them to leave me alone. The only rest I received is when I was admitted to antepartum and Jessica went away. I seriously dont want to deliver at OPRMC after this horrible, painful, humiliating experience (I have had two babies there before so this is heartbreaking to me). I plan to file a complaint with the hospital administrator on Monday.

I had my first baby here, I was scheduled for an induction but after 20 hours still hadn't dilated so needed a C-section. The staff were amazing through the whole process. I was already pretty anxious and emotional about delivery but everyone was so competent and reassuring the whole time. They explained every step and my options along the way very clearly. After the surgery they took such amazing care of me and my son, they made sure I never felt like a burden and I never felt stupid asking my new mom questions. They took my pain seriously and made sure I was as comfortable as possible both while I was there and when sent home. I had issues breastfeeding and the lactation specialists were wonderful and patient with us. We were provided with a ton of great resources for everything you could think of. I very highly recommend this hospital for labor and delivery!
