I ate there for the first time ever tonight, and I will not be going back. The food was under-seasoned, the soda was flat, even the pickles that came with the kids' meals were floppy and bad. The chips were fresh and warm, and the salsa was average, but they certainly weren't good enough to make me a repeat customer. I had the guacamole chimi, and the guac wasn't really guac at all, but rather this greenish substance that coated the entire outside of the chimi and then somehow hardened... Sort of like that magic shell stuff you put on ice cream, but nowhere near as tasty. My mom had the fajita enchiladas and she said they were runny and bland, and that the onion wasn't cooked completely. One of my kids had the Monterrey burrito, and it was simply ground beef rolled up inside a soggy tortilla with some cold shredded cheese on top. Even the fries were sub-par. If I had to sum up Fronteras' food in one word, it would be, "gross".
