I contacted Earl for protection training services. He told me I should re-home my current dog and take his friends dog because his friends dog would be a suitable fit for this type of training. I said no I want my puppy trained. He specifically told me that I shouldn't let my bond and my emotions connecting me to my puppy get in the way of having a protection dog. Once he realized I wasn't getting rid of my puppy and still wanted training he set up a $200 appointment just to see if my dog plays tug. He said that's all he needed to know and that would give a advantage in the training. I agreed on the appointment. I asked him how often we would meet for training. He told me never. That he would have me purchase videos and that I would do this delicate training by myself. I told him I wasn't comfortable with that because I know bite training takes atleast two people. He told me I would have to hire someone else to help me with bite training. I think his services is a joke and I would never recommend him to anyone. He was rude to me and told me that if I had was smart I could do this training all by myself.this isn't how you train your K9 that you rely on for protection. Videos is ok but you need someone to tell you if you're training correctly and bite work takes 2 people

We added a puppy to our family who struggles with crate training. We used Earl with our other pup about 1.5-2 years ago. Even with the time that’s passed, he called me the within hours of my “help me” text and provided tips and pointers to assist puppy in her transition. We highly recommend him and are very appreciative of his expertise and help.

I have been around and have successfully trained dogs my entire life. I met my match with our current rescue and needed guidance from a professional. After speaking with Earl for a few minutes, I knew I found the right person. He listened patiently, asked specific questions, provided his honest opinion while creating a clear picture for what it would be like to have a happy and healthy home with this dog in it. I'm so relieved that I finally found my go to professional dog trainer.

Thank goodness for Earl! I adopted a 2 year-old Great Pyrenees named Arthur in December of 2018. And while Arthur is incredibly sweet and friendly, and overall eager to please, I quickly learned that he had an extreme fear of the car(flat out REFUSES to get in it), suffered separation anxiety and boredom, and must have had many fearful experiences with his previous owner(s). He has many fears of loud noises, emergency sirens, and goes through stages of destructive chewing when I am not home. I live in an apartment and its just me and Arthur, and while we take several long walks a day, and he gets lots of affection, attention and time with me, I am gone 8-9 hours a day at work, so keeping him busy is important. I enlisted Earl's help to overcome the fear of the car and to overcome the destructive chewing, and upon first talking to Earl, I knew that he would be the one to put us on the right path to showing Arthur he doesn't have to be afraid. Earl is a great listener, asks lots of questions about our home life and mine and Arthur's dynamic/ "pack structure", and offered many helpful and informative resources. What really struck me as unique about Earl is that he focuses on training the OWNER to train the dog, which is obviously ideal since the trainer won't always be around, and also training continues to build a bond between a dog and an owner. Before our first meeting, he sent me informative links and videos to watch to learn as much as pack structure and how to be a FAIR pack leader. On our first visit, Earl showed me how to work with Arthur on a few things, and talked me through the challenges we face. He referred me to several dog treat toys that will keep him busy right after I leave for work, and since I've implemented these tools, he hasn't destructively chewed ONCE. We are also working on leash behavior, which overall Arthur is good at- until he sees a truck which he is TERRIFIED of (my guess is that Arthur had one or more past experiences with a truck that were quite traumatizing, perhaps a former owner who was abusive drove one?), and then pulls on the leash and barks very fearfully to scare the truck away....I am a strong woman, but in those moments, it's difficult to keep him safe without hurting his neck, as he is on a leash. Leash working with Earl is helping a LOT. Earl even came over a second time to show me how to properly and SAFELY use the prong collar and the accompanying leash. He is very responsive to questions, and gets back to his customers in a very timely manner. I know I'm getting the support and advice I need! We are working on counter-conditioning, as well. I will update this review as we progress with the counter-conditioning, and the goal is to get Arthur comfortable enough to get him in the car when need be, and work on counter-conditioning until his fearful responses fade away. I love my dog and just want him to feel safe and confident that I am going to take care of him and never let someone hurt him. I am confident that working with Earl is the best way to achieve this! Earl is helping us every step of the way. He is incredibly responsive and supportive. I would recommend him to any dog owner who wants to work on any challenges they and their dog are experiencing. I'm looking forward to reaching our goals, and I know it takes a lot of work, which Arthur and I will do together.
