Tonight was my first night there, unknowingly at the same time as the senior single mixer which I thought was cute to people watch. The bartenders were very friendly. However, I had the weirdest, most uncomfortable experience when I went to the bar to tap out. Apparently, the owner was casually sitting at the end of the bar with his girlfriend, I’m presuming. He asked me if I was having a good time and what my general feedback was and revealed that he was the owner (no harm there, I thought that was really neat). So, I gave him my genuine feedback which was positive and intrigued for its location and atmosphere in comparison to bars like Westport and etc. However, his gf or fiancé kept insisting that I look like her Asian sister which we look NOTHING alike and was giving passive-aggressive “stabs” at my looks and appearance which really offended me and made me uncomfortable. She kept laughing it off but the owner was giving her disagreeable looks and almost asking her to please stop in his disapproving glances. I’m not sure if I was threatening to her or not but it left me feeling insecure and just a bad “taste in my mouth” so to speak. I don’t think I will go there again just so I won’t have to possibly encounter that woman but I thought everything else was great.
