We loved our stay at GWL-KC! This was our first time at the KC location and we loved it! Lots for our family to do, and the location of the lodge is just excellent. You can easily go out to eat outside of the lodge to save money. Would definitely recommend! We did notice that the water was a lot colder at KC than it is at Grapevine location though. Just something to be aware of. It didnt cause us any issues though.

GWL is so much fun for the whole family, young and old and in between. We had a really great time shopping, moseying around looking at cool decorations, eating ice cream, later a strawberry/ banana smoothie, buying souvenirs, playing mini golf, then having the BEST pepperoni pizza EVER while watching the water park through floor-to-ceiling windows in the cafeteria. I may drive back just to get a pizza to go. I'm 20 mins away. All the employees were wonderful. Every single one. That means they have great mgmt there. We will go back annually for our family staycations since we live close by. Oh - everything is reasonably priced, too. We bought all that stuff and didn't spend over $50 for two people.

Our kids had a great time. We met our family here and stayed in a two-bedroom suite. The kids were ages 6, 4, 4, and 2. They had a great time at the water park and the arcade. We avoided the laser tag area due to ages. At the water park, our 6-year old was able to do all of the slides with an adult. The 4-year olds could do all the slides except one. We visited the first weekend in April and it was not crowded at all. We never waited in line for food/drinks and the slide line was 10 minutes long at most on Saturday afternoon. However all day Friday we only waited 2-5 minutes each time we went in the slides. The kids loved the splash pad playground, but it was easy to lose sight of them when they were running to the slide line at the top of it. Towels are supplied but you have to leave them with an attendant at the pool exit. So I would recommend bringing a couple of your own if you plan to walk back to your room from the pool. If you dont check your pool towel in at the pool exit, your room will be charged $15 per towel. Our room location was on the main floor and the closest room to the lobby. It was great for easy access to the pool, arcade and lobby activities. However it was loud. Our kids go to bed at a normal time, so a dance party at 9:30 pm in the lobby was not ideal for our ages. But we brought a noise machine and the bunk room reduces sound. My one complaint is that because our kids are early risers, we had a lot of downtime in the mornings before the pool opened at 10 AM. There were some activities that opened at 9 AM, but our kids had already been awake 6:30 AM and had been asking for the pool constantly. We ended up bringing them shopping and walking over to the Bass Pro Shop next door. It is huge and had an aquarium that they enjoyed. Trip Advisors claims this location has an exercise room, but that is not true. We did go on morning runs both mornings. The area was well lit with very little traffic and wide sidewalks for running. Wal-Mart and Target are super close, so we made trips there for water and other things we forgot. The best part was that we didnt feel like we were ever in the way with our rowdy kids. Everyone else had children running around and were very understanding.
