My son had football pictures done, in the full body pic , you can clearly see the outline of his privates. Not noticing this on the proofs I viewed online, I bought an 8x10 for my dad. He pointed it out. Said they were xrated… it bothered me because that’s all I see when I look at the picture now, I emailed Ben. I got a very timely response saying that several boys decided not to wear their jocks, and that goes above and beyond the basic retouching that they offer. But I could select the retouching option on their site and fix it. Basically buy the pictures again. To me this was not very professional, because obviously he knew about the issue, and chose not to fix it. I love the actual photo, just wish it wasn’t xrated.

PS..the 3 stars are for the photos as a whole and the timely response I got, even though it wasn’t the response I hoped for

I first heard about Shirk Photography from a coworker. When I looked at their online gallery I was blown away. I hadn’t seen anyone do things like that with senior portraits before. We came from Omaha, NE and the trip was well worth it. My son had an incredible experience. Mr. Shirk had some great ideas and made the session fun. We had used their app to take pictures of places in our home where we would hang the pictures, so when it came time to review his portraits, we could see how they would look in our home. We paid more than what we would have with other photographers, but the portraits we received were well worth it! You essentially get works of art rather than just portraits. We plan to have our two other children get their senior portraits done there as well. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Second experience with Shirk Photography:
This was the second time we had been fortunate enough to work with Shirk Photography for senior pictures. We really appreciated the effort to try to tailor the experience to our son’s interests and personality. It was a fun session and the pictures were amazing! Getting to see the pictures the same day and to see how they might look in our home from the pictures we uploaded was great! You still can’t understand what works of art they create until you see the finished product when they arrive at your home. Everyone who sees them just can’t believe how great they look. We truly believe that Ben Shirk and his team are one of the best in the country.
