Nice piece of history in a nicely restored building. Beautiful place, looks great after all the renovations. Very nice winery. Onto the food... I'll have to admit that for the prices (about 15/20 each) that I was expecting better than I received. It was tasty, nicely presented; but not great. Good parking, good server, lovely view over the river, and right near the river walk. Great place to try out and see if you like. I'll likely be back, but probably for a lunch special rather than a dinner.

We attended Star Restaurant on Valentines day. The place was extremely busy, but well staffed. The service was excellent and our waitress was polite and courteous. Despite the huge crowd that was dining that evening, our waitress was calm and exceeded my expectations for service. Our appetizers, drinks, and entree was promptly delivered and the quality of food was the best I've had in the Dubuque area. It was priced "just right", and I didn't hesitate to leave a 30% tip. Thanks for the excellent experience!

Resentful waitress, mediocre food, tourist trap. Brown bag it on your next trip to Dubuque, if, by chace, you get shanghai'ed into this dump.
