Without questions Hooves & Paws Rescue of the Heartland is a class act and they are supported and loved by so many people. They have earned the respect of Law Enforcement who they work with on a regular basis and were Business of the Year. Five Stars~ Second, I want to address the review of H & P by Paige Rees. Paige I see after you and your husband went to court and your horses were removed from your care you wrote a negative review of H & P. Let me remind you of what the court records said during the hearing of Eric Rees, your husband. Also, let me remind you all of the horses were signed over by the court to the care of H & P. The following as public record Court Hearing notes regarding the Eric Rees animal neglect case. At the preliminary hearing, Seward County Sheriff Deputy Jonathan Lintz testified that he was dispatched to 1625 Raymond Road on Aug. 26 to investigate a report of approximately 30 malnourished horses. One horse was found dead on the property. Lintz obtained two search warrants, and he along with volunteers and representatives of Hooves and Paws Rescue of the Heartland seized a total of 26 horses over a two-day span. Elston showed photographs of the animals, one of which showed a puncture wound in one of the horses’ legs. Lintz said necropsy reports from the veterinarians who examined the horses said the horse with the puncture wound was euthanized because of infection, and a second horse died from anemia, muscle atrophy and parasites related to malnourishment. Additional photographs showed other horses with visible ribs and shoulder and hip bones.. And finally I want to address the review of H & P by Jennifer Olexo who appears to be a friend of Paige Rees which makes perfect sense why she would take the time to come here and write a negative review to back her buddy Paige Rees up. I know that Jennifer Olexo is a scammer as many others also know. When she can't scam someone out of money she resorts to verbal abuse of them. Maybe Jennifer Olexo can share with everyone why she is buddies with someone who had their animals removed due to neglect?

I would rate this organization NEGATIVE stars if possible. Please be careful about spending your hard earned charity dollars with them. We had a boarder from American Legacy Stables that had adopted a horse through Hooves & Paws who wanted to move her horses because the situation with Dorothy Turley at American Legacy had become intolerable. She was told that they could not move to our facility, Miracle Hills Ranch & Stables, because it was not approved. Dorothy insisted that SHE (not the boarder) owned the horse but the boarder had paid board and expenses for the adopted horse to American Legacy because the boarder believed from the adoption approved paperwork from Hooves & Paws that the horse had been adopted and belonged to her. It began to appear that the boarder’s adoption of the horse was only approved so that American Legacy would be paid board for the horse. The boarder filed a small claims case against Dorothy Turley at American Legacy and Genea Stoops of Hooves & Paws to either let her retain custody of the horse or pay for her out of pocket (board and miscellaneous) expenses. The judge awarded custody of the horse to the boarder who is having a difficult time trying to arrange for the horse to be released to her custody. This could have been easily remedied had Genea Stoops responded to the boarders request to address whatever needed to be done to move the horse. She said that she would not approve our facility but she had never been to our facility to see where the adopted horse would be stabled. Miracle Hills Ranch & Stables has nationwide exposure due to Smoke, the donkey from Iraq, living with us and Take Flight Farms therapy program was a staple at our barn for many years. She even told the judge that the adoption was dependent on the adopted horse staying at American Legacy. Genea Stoops actions do not seem to support the best interest of the animal which would have been to continue custody with people who love the horse and have a vested interest in the welfare of the animal outside of personal gain.

The best of the best in animal rescue. Law Enforcement contacts them regularly for their expertise. They selflessly go above and beyond and have been instrumental in soooo many rescues during the 2019 floods. Nothing but respect from me.
