TJ Edle was a contractor we used through Standard of Beaverdale to put in a new kitchen plus additional vinyl plank flooring in our hallway and bathroom in the summer of 2019. Our designer said his estimate for the job was too much and recommended us to ask for something less. My husband and I think that is why he and his crew did such a sloppy job on it. He called late the day he was supposed to be here and said he couldn’t make it. My husband took the day off from work that day. The days they were here was one of the hottest days of the year and they kept leaving the doors open even though we asked them not too. They were supposed to put up tarps so the dust wouldn’t enter the other rooms of the house. They put up thin plastic and we had to keep taping it together. The molding put on the kitchen floor does not even touch the floor evenly. He never leveled all the floors by tearing up the vinyl flooring in the kitchen, but just sloped the flooring from kitchen to hallway, which has has split apart and risen up on one side. The flooring in the kitchen started coming up while he was still here but he refused to do anything about it. We worry about the flooring under the new cabinets that we cant see. The paint job in the Hallway and kitchen was sloppy (the wall paint overlapped the ceiling paint all around. Nail holes in the molding above the cabinets were not repaired when his nail gun quit working. The new faucet had a up and down scratch on the front, he said we should rub it out. Manufacturer said it would look worse. We wanted wood colored molding, but he said white would be best. I asked one of his workers why they liked white instead. He said it covers all our mistakes, which we realized later it did not around the sliding glass doors and the kitchen window. One wall between the cabinets had to be redone, but after fixing it twice, it still look like some took a rake to it. We paid a inspector to come in and check the floors to find out who was at fault. The flooring was put in wrong, he did not follow the instructions even though he told us he had put in 14 of these floors before. The first part of the flooring that we showed him that was coming up he said to just put a rug over it. This was supposed to be our 50th wedding anniversary gift to each other. All this cost $25,000. We never would have imagined that a person could do such a bad job.

I absolutely can’t say enough about this contractor. I have been so impressed throughout the entire process. After waiting a week and a half, and getting 5 different stories of why the contractors Lowe’s “Sent Out” to measure for a screen door, I finally decided I was done dealing with them and their contractors who couldn’t even show up to measure for the door. So I decided to start looking for a different contractor to come and install the door. One of the very first people that was recommended to me was TJ. I called him to see if he would be able to install a screen door for me. He came over literally 20 minutes later to measure for the door, then he did some looking to see if anywhere in town had the size I needed in stock. Unfortunately, nobody did so I had to special order one. Two weeks later, I got a phone call telling me my door was in, so I texted TJ to see when we would be able to have him install the door. He and his guys came out THAT AFTERNOON to put the door in! I had my grandmother stay at my house to keep my dogs under control since they were going to be working on my front door, and even she was impressed. She said everybody worked very hard, none of them were smoking, and she didn’t hear any foul language. The door looks and works great! They even went above and beyond cleaning up after the job was done! I plan to use Edle Building and Remodeling for any future projects we have. I’m still completely shocked with how smooth the entire experience has gone from beginning to end. If you want a contractor who cares about their work, has fair prices, has respectable employees, and you can trust, I would definitely recommend calling TJ.
