a must try. the only haute cuisine in the area. grateful that chef david took us in with same day reservation on fathers day. he was so generous to even give us bottle of wine as fathers day gift. this is thus far the only time we emptied all our plates while eating out. a genuine 5 star savory food. surprised that i walked out not feeling bloated with food. we had the 4 course meal. would wanna try the 5 course meal next time but i believe need to reserve 72hrs ahead. you can smell the food as he prep and cook them, its like a torture mouth watering moment

Specifically requested this place for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! Very intimate experience. The food was fresh and prepared with a great level of care. It was delicious! No other restaurant in the area holds a candle to it. The chef provided great conversation as well!

Great food. Hidden Gem in Iowa City. Not a big restaurant group. Just a guy making good food for people.

Wonderful food! We received a gift certificate so we made reservations for the week before Valentine's Day. The owner is the only person working there, he is greeter, waiter, chef, etc. He wore a mask which I thought was great. Answered our questions about the menu. Restaurant was not crowded, we had a delicious leisurely 4 course dinner. I'm usually not much of a red meat eater but decided to try the steak au poivre. It was the best steak I have ever eaten! It's too expensive for us to there regularly but I'm sure we will return for special occasions.
