Howard Johnson Inn Cedar Rapids

Older hotel and not updated. Seems like lots of people stay there long term.

If you love to party, and party loudly,, and are a heavy, heavy smoker with no respect for none smoking rooms, Howard Johnson Inn in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is the one for you. However, if you wish to be able to breathe, or sleep, go somewhere else! Even my poor dog was terrified to lay on the bed because of who knows what buried deep within. Carpet full of smoke burns, filthy, large lumps under carpet (scared to even think what's in those! This was so bad I left even though I had already paid for two more nights and could not get a refund because of how I booked it. ( My own fault, one I will not make again.) I don't blame the staff, as I don't think they can do anything if the management doesn't support them.The housekeeper even admitted just how bad the smoke filled my non smoking room. I moved to the Rodeway Inn just a ways away which also accepts dogs.This is almost the same price, but WOW, what a difference! This place is clean, quiet, with large spacious rooms and large comfortable beds. My dog and I are both in heaven, and I told the front desk person, an absolute angel, just how grateful we are to be here.

Old hotel. But the service is extremely nice. I stayed a week for work and the desk clerk moved me to a room with a mini fridge and easy access. No complaints about cleanliness.

Do not go by the old reviews on here! This hotel is just lovely for the price! The room I stayed in was very nice! New carpet, sheets, and blankets/pillows. there are no bugs either. mini fridge and microwave were nice as well, I really think this is a great value hotel!
