        I am very disappointed with my experience in trying to get an appointment with CIPS. I have called several times over the past few months to get an appointment and I am unable to do so. The First time I called in early Feb. the answer was "We don't have information on appointments, call back next week." Called back the following week - "We are booked and no longer taking any more appointments for this year, oh and you need a referral from your doc." Called back 1 week later with a referral and I was told they would call me back as soon as possible. Waiting 1.5 weeks and never got a call back so I called back only to be told "we are waiting for more information and we should have more information on April 1st. Call back first thing on April 1st" Called back at 9:00 on April 1st "We didn't get the information, there is nothing more I can tell you. We don't have a wait list and there are no appointments. Call back next week to see if we have more information." My guess when I call back next week I will hear, "we are full and no longer taking appointments"

        We had a terrible experience at Central Iowa Psychological Services. My son never felt comfortable with his psychologist and cried because he didn't want to go to her which is why we switched. He has had no problems since. His therapist would CONSTANTLY cancel appointments last minute. One time when I was in the waiting room. It has been 4 years since we have gone there and they just now sent us a bill for an appointment that we cancelled less than 24 hours in advance due to a family member having a life saving surgery last minute. I called several times to reconcile this bill and every time I was told they would get back to me and they never did. I am very disappointed in the services provided and the professionalism displayed. The facilities were also always very dirty and we never felt comfortable even sitting on the chairs. If you can, I highly recommend finding a different group of therapists to see.
