Studio 13 Photography

Let me start off by saying that Sonya was a family friend who actually worked for my grandma at one point. This was the main reason we chose her because we thought she would do a great job. We did not expect any discounts and did paid full price for everything, but we DID expect to be treated just like any other customer and get the same kind of service. When we first met with Sonya to go over packages and see some of her work, we were really impressed. We chose the package and paid. And communication was great up to our engagement photo session. After that is when it went downhill. I did not have her phone number at any time so all communication was via email. She would reply but it would take a week or more. At one point my father had to email her just to get her to reply back to me. It also took us MONTHS to get our engagement photos back and she actually posted other couples photos, who had sessions after ours, before getting ours posted! Communication lacked severely! Fast forward to wedding day and she was supposed to arrive before a certain time to set up for photos, but she arrived late, so photos started late. I had to start getting ready before Sonya arrived. Because she was late, she did not get a bunch of photos of me getting ready and only got a few of my mom actually zipping my dress. No makeup photos, no hair photos, just zipping the dress and MAYBE doing the veil. The photos she took were decent, but I wish her and her assistant would have gotten better photos of the reception. We have a ton of photos that show peoples backs while they were dancing and barely any photos of the guests tables to show who may have attended. We did get a CD of every single photo that was taken...including ones that may have been out of focus, too dark, or too bright so you had to pick your way through them to find what you liked. Our wedding was in May of 2019 and we had talked about our wedding book at the very end of 2019 or the very begining of 2020. I had approved the photos for it and never heard anything back. I will take blame for not contacting her sooner than October or November of 2020, but that is because we had not received our wedding book. Mind you she had our money as we had paid for everything and our package included this wedding book. She acted like the printing company made a mistake and sent it to the wrong house or never even shipped it, when reality is she probably never ordered it. The ONLY address she had would have been mine or my parents and neither of us received it. So here we are a 1 1/2 years later and we FINALLY have our wedding book. It should NOT have taken this long and I am no where near impressed with the service we received from Sonya. Maybe it was because she is a family friend so she thought she could slack and treat us differently, but we are just like any other customer. I'm sure everyone who has used her services have nothing but great things to say, but for us it is was quite disapointing. I will never recommend her to anyone and I will personally never use her again. ** Even if you are busy with other customers (which she went to part time before our wedding and still lacked in communication) you dont slack on other customers. You still give them 100% like any one else! **

Going into my search blind, I was seeking an amazing experience for my only child’s senior pictures. After researching several local photographers online, I was drawn to Sonya’s work based on her gallery and the fact that she took photos of my son as a toddler. She did not disappoint, as a matter of fact, she continues to surprise me with her amazing skills & personality. I plan to utilize Studio 13 for all future photography needs, and recommend you do the same!
