Usta Turkish Restaurant

I had been curious about this place for a while and decided that yesterday was the day. Compared to many of the other Broad Ripple restaurants yesterday, this one was noticeably empty. We ordered two of the lunch specials one gyro plate and one chicken kabob plate. The lunch specials come with an appetizer and a dessert. We got the Baba ghanoush and the lentil soup as our appetizers. The eggplant dip was good--just the right amount of smokiness but could use a bit more salt. The lentil soup was a bit of a disappointment; the flavors in the soup were a bit dull-almost watered down-compared to some of the other lentil soups that I had in the area. The meats for both dishes were great and perfectly seasoned. They come with a side of a basic side and white rice. Overall the lady serving us was warm and very helpful, but the food itself was pretty average.

Great experience. The mother and son team took great care of us and the food was prepared fresh and very good. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner.

Had lunch today for the first time and it was fantastic. Falafel and burek appetizers were fresh and flavorful. The stuffed cabbage was perfect. And the woman who helped us was incredibly kind and welcoming. Will definitely be going back to try more.
