It isn't a terrible college, very small. Especially if you are a male student there were only 2 male students in any of my classes at a time. Very female dominated school. The classes were not terrible, I went for veterinary technology for a few semesters and I was not able to understand the course material well. The teachers were not very helpful and I ended up dropping down to veterinary assisting. The classes were nice, we worked on animals that the near by rescue groups provided us. Some of the classes were hands on and some of them were more textbook based. There was a nice balance. Towards the end of my studies is when it started to go down hill. I will not name any teachers or any of the classes because I do not want to get anyone in trouble but one of my classes wasn't even worth showing up. It was my only class that day and all we did was watch youtube videos that did not even cover the class materials. It was like the study hall version of college. There was one teacher who called us "Glorified kennel assistants" which wasn't the most... encouraging words. At the end of it I passed my certification tests. At the end of it it said something along the lines of "you have to pay your student loans even if you don't think it was worth it." and it made me sit back and think...was this worth it? I have been out of school for about two years and I can tell you, no it isn't. You can be trained on job for a veterinary technology position let alone veterinary assisting. All I have done is provide financial hardship for myself and my family. We already live in poverty but now $10,000 in debt for me and my mother is around $1,000 in debt. I have finally paid off my assisting tuition..but that $10,000 is from me doing a few months of veterinary technology. Do yourself a favor and definitely look more into schools if you are considering what school to go to. After reading more reviews about Harrison College it looks like they have had their accreditation revoked and students are having a hard time transferring credits or even being seen as certified in the eyes of employers. Please. Please look more before picking this as your school. I don't even work in the veterinary field right now, I work retail. Because I make more working retail...than I do veterinary..and I have those student loans to pay of. Going to college is one of my main regrets in life.

With a graduation rate of 38.2% in 2014 and my experience as a student, I would not recommend someone risk attending this college. You are not only given unrealistic expectations for "teaching yourself" (translated into their words: "at your own pace"), but you are also withheld from vital help towards success that eventually transforms into failure, overwhelming debt, and collection agencies before being formally withdrawn from the school. Please save yourself the time, distress, and eternal debt with a place not concerned with success or graduation rates, but with collecting unsuccessful student funds.
