I am rating this school two stars only because of Mrs. Boyd. She is a great asset to the school .She lifts the children up and encourage those babies like she had them. And my kids love her. I am withdrawing my four children because this school doesn't accommodate all students when it comes to transportation. My childrens bus stop is no where near our home they can't even walk to their bus stop. I tried talking to the principal and she wasn't willing to compromise at all to try to get a bus stop put in place for students who live further. If the school can't accommodate all students with bus routes then they need to say if you live past Emerson and 30th if your not picking your children up and dropping them off don't enroll them. If I had known the bus stop was so far I would've never put my kids in this school. The principal isn't active with the parents or students at all. I'm not sure why she is even there. The behavioral specialist. Ms Wilson is beyond annoying she calls home for stupid things. Not to mention I have missed countless of time from work because she had me coming to the school for ridiculous things. She also picks on my son and never really encourages him or compliment him whenever he does something good. It's a shame how quick she is to call home when he isn't 'behaving" but the second he is having a good week she doesn't call home to compliment that. She needs to learn about positive reinforcement. As quick as you are to call out a child's faults be just as quick to acknowledge their positive behavior. Thank the Lord for Mrs. Boyd she is really the only good thing about this school. My kids are being disenrolled and enrolled at Indiana Math & Science Academy and I am so excited for this new journey. This school could also use some type of decor because the school looks like a prison. My children will definitely not be returning.
