Mangia! Italian Restaurant

My wife and I went to their new location for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Before we had children we had gone to their old location a few times and enjoyed it. Excellent food and a nice wine list. A pleasant environment. I had the lasagna... it was very good.

We decided to eat Italian this evening and headed to Mangia's at City Center. it was a nice evening so we requested an outdoor table. The evening started with our waiter informing us that he was also the restaurant's bartender. Bruschetta Appetizer was ordered. When it arrived the bread was barely toasted with chunks of tomato, olives, and some sort of dry cheese that was not melted. Very difficult to eat...all the items fell of the toast. Not much favor at all. We ordered our entrées. I ordered the lasagna, My guest ordered the ravioli. With their ravioli was a insalata caprese salad. It lacked flavor as well. A bus boy arrived to take our plates. There was a candle on the table. We asked if he could light it, and he explained that he wasn't allowed to, and had to find someone that could. A waiter happened by, and we had him light it. The candle went right out due to lack of wax left in candle. The waiter arrived with the bread after several requests.. Bread was left on the table with no plates to eat it on. We ate the bread over our salad bowl. The bread dipping oil they provided had no taste whatsoever. It was comparable to Kroger vegetable oil. We were done after one bite. Meanwhile, the condensation from the waters and drinks we had ordered was leaking across and running down all over the table as no napkins or coasters were provided with them. At this point we were starting to hear complaints from customers from the other 3 tables about one thing or another that were wrong with there meals and deserts . I won't be able to provide a review for the entrees that we had ordered as, we had enough at this point, spoke to the manager, and proceeded to leave after waiting in between our appetizer and main dish to long!. They were nice enough to not expect us to pay for what we already had eaten, or not eaten. We were very disappointed with this visit, and truly hoped that we had found a decent Italian restaurant that we could bring friends back to. The search continues.
