        Looked up this am for my son who is getting "properly" engaged. Grew up going to Blackmans, I was saddened to see it "permanently" closed this am.  They were down to earth, not a snobby store.

        I was forced to come here be my insurance company after my wedding ring was smashed in a door ( yes my finger was in it at the time). I like ornate, filigree style rings. He had beautiful wax models of what I was looking for. The detail was gorgeous. I selected the one I liked. It looked good for the first few months. After a cleaning and polishing the detail became a lot less distinct. I wish I could have gone to my jeweler whom I have trusted for over 30 years.
