Prejudice, simple. A man of color ahead of me in line uses an ebt card, I dont know the man or his personal situation so that is fine. I, also a man of color, proceed after him and the clerk asks if I am using ebt. I immediately take offense, what reason was there for him to ask that question? Furthermore my debit card triggers a chip error and instead of allowing time for the reader to reset he asks for the card and taps it. I didnt ask him to tap it, what if that wasnt my preference? I understand that it is probably hard to find anyone to work overnight at the gas station but hiring foreign racists might not be the best option for a diverse community. This occurred on 5/12 between 12:45 and 1 am.
