Got there and there was no doctor, no cancellation call just some snotty red bearded kid saying the doc does that, then trying to ignore me. Talked briefly to store Manager Gina and realized that She had screwed up previous orders. Dr. Fultz is probably one of the best you can deal with, The Sears Sales team however is rude, arrogant without anything to be arrogant about. Each screw up is blamed on someone else, their lab, the doctor, the computers, Sears corporate etc... When you ask to talk to Gina's manager she states that she isn't allowed to give out number our name of her boss. The doctor is the best, glass quality is cheap, but prices are good. If you have insurance go somewhere else.

I made the mistake of going there when I didn't have any insurance. The eye doctor was a plain idiot and thought my eyes were those of an elderly person (I was 24 at the time). She said that I had a very high risk of detached retinas and all this other B.S. I got glasses and frames from them. But dare not fall asleep in them or they will break. Cheap as walmart's glasses. Not worth my time or money. In the future, I saved myself a lot of headache, time and money and went to my real doctor, insurance or not.

I really wish Yelp would allow us to give less than a single star on the rating. A single star for this place is a gift but one I am willing to give in the hopes that this review will prevent someone else from having a similar experience. It all started off well enough - make an appointment, get an eye exam, order glasses...for my 7th grade daughter. Hand over $460 and leave thinking that since we completed our end of the transaction as agreed upon that they would do the same.It went down hill from there. The kids glasses were actually ready on the day they were promised...they just weren't shipped to our store. Unfortunately, Sears could not tell us where they were shipped and said they would be re-ordered to arrive another 7+ days later. Apparently, this appeared to them as the best way to take care of their mistake. In my opinion, my daughter's glasses should have been remade before anything else in their queue because they were not delivered as promised. Good luck explaining something like this solution to the manager because they don't seem to have a manager. Maybe the right answer is to call the district manager? Try it if you want but don't count on a call back if she tells you she needs to check into things and get back to you. Hopefully the BBB will have better luck reaching them when they follow-up on the complaint I filed.Unfortunately, my daughter told her teachers she could sit anywhere because her new glasses would arrive the next day. Thanks to Sears Optical, the kid gets to spend the first two weeks of school squinting to see the board. Bottom line on Sears Optical in Springfield...either go somewhere else or plan to squint a lot.
