worst insurance company since tom hayes retired, the manager and sales rep forgets to mail very important letters for weeks. He does not even actually really work besides counting his money and sends other companies to relief himself of moving away from his office area. After my house burnt and left me homeless they took 7-8 months with no cost of living expenses to cover relocating and rent. 1,000 dollars was the only payment received from a separate company called dooley claim services which was hardly available as well as of very little assistance with questions. shelbyville mutual also has 2 other affiliates they used so they can run the insured through an obstacle coarse. They had an attorney with the Name johnathon mitchell from carbondale who lied saying my claim was beige settled and they had discussed payments with the bank since i could not afford the payments while i was covering my temporary housing and other bills. my house is now being rushed through an accelerated foreclosure since it been ruled by judge harrell of richland county the first national banks attorney mayor vaughn with a day and a weeks notice due to the insurance agent forgetting to send the denial letter for two weeks which was stated on top of his desk the whole time. i had to call a few associates of his since he was out of the office doing stuff to hear back from him at a later day to just be able to say you been denied i get the letter sent and any other calls must be directed to the attorney which had lied to me the prior weeks about the claim. the insurance company is bidding on the house if it goes to a foreclosure auction at far less then what they, by contract, have sold a policy to insure. they do not cover the policy's the sale by contract, at least this instance. the banks attorney has even stated his opinion of the insurance company being about if not the worst hes ever witnessed. luckily, the banks attorney has stated he would do as much as possible to within legalities to give leniency on the 30-60 day foreclosure auction. getting legal representations on such claim is limited on law groups counties away with a fair portion of them stating they only defend the insurance firms or theyve got a conflict in interest. i have only been able to reach two firms in the whole state of illinois out of many contacted that said they would review the case to see if they will take it. this is a scam insurance is a scam. since the fire ive had theifs steal many different possessions that were once of value. ive lost nearly all things of value, im in the process of lossing my house to steal have money owed. to top it off i discover my house was sold to me without the the actual property assessor for the loan look at my house for in her papers for the loan the house was stated to be on a slab, had a ladder to the attic entry, had a finished house, had no foundation issues, and no mold. to further all the obstacles the termite inspector failed to discover termites the had the stud and bottom sill plate infested as well as had holes through the mortar on the foundation. i finally had house with biggest issues fixed with not one claim which policy covered as well as another fire of a smaller degree in which i arrived in time to suppress before fire spread beyond garage and only had smoke damage throughout my once home. i can continue on how well ive treated this insurance company as well as bank. Grinell Mutual and shelbyville mutual are designed to exhaust customers to points of profiting to the customer not being able to fully get proper assistance readily. I have told this story to many people and not one has heard a story so corrupt as this horrible event. Please dont use this insurance con, i would not wish my struggles and disposition for anyone, it is not American ethics and morels that was of once regarded standards. you are better without ever owning a house if you have this compony.
