All in all, a good institution. But they are very behind the times with technology. They don't even have cards that tap yet, and my chip goes bad within a matter of weeks every time I get a new card.

They really don't care about their customers anymore not the financial plus I knew from years ago more like a cult they really don't care!

I had the worst experience with a loan officer from Ottawa named Kaliah White. I did a loan application online, I provided pay stubs as requested, and with a credit score of over 800 she told me the loan was approved. So I drove to the closest office which was 50 miles away to complete the paperwork and pick up the check only to be told the loan was not going to go through as requested because the car was overpriced. They offered half the amount that she told me I was approved for. She lied to me and I drove there for nothing. I ended up going to my bank and got the full amount requested without an issue. Thank you for deceptive practices.

I've banked with Financial Plus since 1990. For many years they were my "hometown bank" that worked with me and for me. I had detected an attitude of indifference in the last 2 to 3 years that was verified last week. I have an auto loan through them. I switched auto insurance companies going from one local hometown Agent to another. The Agent I switched to notified Financial Plus as they have been here for many years and knew the system. The transaction was made in late January on the same day going from one Company to the other, there was never a lapse in my insurance coverage. I received a letter in the mail in Mid-February stating that I had no insurance coverage on my vehicle and said that if I didn't show proof of insurance my loan would be turned over to a collection agency. I have a great credit rating, yet they didn't even bother to talk to me, but rather, they threatened me. To make things worse the system they use to gather the information was a confusing and frustrating combination of "online" jargon. It took several attempts to get the declaration sent to them and no confirmation was issued. Three days later I received an email again threatening me with turning my loan over to a collection agency. I called the number on the email several times and after 30 to 40 minutes of punching numbers with no option of being able to talk to anyone I waited until the "options" ended on the recording and finally the phone started ringing. The person that answered was condescending telling me that they received no notice from my new insurance company and that they did receive the online documents but they had not been processed yet. I instructed that person, whom I doubt even works for Financial Plus to process them while we were on the phone. The person put me on hold, then came back and said it was entered. I asked for confirmation but was told "We don't do that". I have no idea if it was actually taken care of or if they attacked my credit rating. Financial Plus is no longer Financial Plus. They no longer are there for their loyal customer base, instead they have spent the money they have made off me in the 34 years (and off everyone else) on a lavish unnecessary monument to themselves on Jefferson. Financial Plus cares for themselves, not the customer.
