George Street Photo & Video

I worked with the George Street Photo & Video team on my clients' wedding at Larz Anderson House and it was a good experience. The photo/video team was on time, followed the timeline and shot list. I would happily work with George Street again.

My husband and I used George Street to photograph and film our wedding in May 2019. My husband researched prices for many competitors and discovered George Street had the best value compared to others in our area. George Street had wedding coordinators who were easy to contact whenever we had questions. They also have an online portal which we filled out with all the information they could need from schedule, to style preferences, to location information. About a week before our wedding, our assigned photographer Scott C called us and clarified any questions he had for us. He also gave us advice on how to get all the shots we wanted during our timeframe. The day before our wedding, our wedding coordinator informed us our assigned videographer was hospitalized and was unable to be at our wedding. George Street provided us with a new videographer almost seamlessly. This is something we were worried about happening with other vendors, but because George Street employs so many photographers and videographers they were able to easily remedy the situation. Our videographer, Mark K., emailed us the afternoon before our wedding going over our timeline and info. We met both guys on our wedding day and they were so professional and polite! Scott was fun to work with. He was great in instructing us how to pose for our photos since we had no idea what to do. Both Scott and Mark worked so hard on our special day and we were so grateful. When we received our photos and video, we were in awe and got so emotional. The quality of the photos and video was so clear and colorful! My husband and I were really amazed. I am so glad we went with George Street and absolutely recommend them! Also recommend that everyone get video in addition to photos. There's so much story, emotion, and fun in the video that are impossible to capture in a photo.

If it weren't for the photographers, this company would be getting zero stars from me. Our initial meeting before booking went well. However, after booking, the service went downhill quickly. I would never recommend this company. We picked Heather as our photographer and she was great for our engagement photo session. She was very polite and had plenty of ideas to make sure our photos were beautiful. However, we were told our photos would be ready in 4-6 weeks and we had to wait closer to 8 weeks. Then, after having booked her over a year in advance, two months before our wedding we were told that our photographer Heather was no longer avaliable to be our wedding photographer. When we were informed we were not offered any apology nor an explanation as to why she was no longer avaliable. We were then given 3 photographers to choose from, none of who my fiance and I really loved. After picking one, we did not receive a reply from George Steet, despite multiple attempts to get into contact with them. After waiting 3 weeks for a reply, we were told our new selection was confirmed. We requested to meet with them in person or via zoom to get to know them and feel comfortable working with them. We were told that we would not be able to meet with the person who would be photographing our wedding day, and instead were offered an additional engagement session. As this was a month before our wedding, we had no need for a follow up photoshoot and instead requested our previous engagement session to be refunded. We were told this was not possible and were offered additional photo albums. We accepted, however the website to create the albums is not user friendly. Our wedding photos did come back in a timely manner, however they were not what we were hoping for, as Heather was the photographer we wanted. Our back up photographer was still good, however it was not what we'd hoped for. If you are getting married, I would not recommend George Street. Planning a wedding is already stressful, and this company will dump extra stress on you throughout the process. UPDATE: After posting this review, a representative from George Street reached out to me. I was told that they saw this review, and that was the reason they were reaching out, NOT because of my several complaints during the wedding planning process. They were polite and asked what could be done to fix my bad experience. I informed them that I asked several times for our engagement session to be refunded during our planning process and that the request was denied. I was then informed that the engagement session could now be refunded. I was then told that in order to receive my refund, I would have to leave a 5 star review for the company. I refused, as this company is FAR from 5 stars. I was then told that nothing could be done. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

THIS IS NOT A REAL PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY COMPANY. They are simply a shell company that contracts local artist. They make you provide all music files and act as nothing more than a marketing agency. Please do your research and save THOUSANDS of dollars by hiring a local photographer/videographer as they will do the same and put their mark-up on top of it. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.
