The whole staff at Body Gears in Oak Brook are amazing! They are all very helpful, supportive, and knowledgeable. They have flexible schedules and worked around my work schedule too. My physical therapist, Lindsay, helped me get back to my normal life. She helped me address each of my issues one at a time and we made tremendous progress together over the past 2 months working together. She helped me not only with my pelvic floor dysfunction, but also with my low back pain, hip weakness, and breathing techniques to lower my risk of illness. She helped me learn that I can live a better lifestyle and that I don’t have to live with my reoccurring kidney infections for the rest of my life. It was something that I could change but just needed some guidance along the way. They have Covid protocols and guidelines in place for the clinic and their staff who help clean and sanitize every piece of equipment after it has been used and everyone is masked properly. These Covid guidelines let me know that I am in a safe environment to better my health. I am definitely recommending to my friends and family that Body Gears in Oak Brook is a wonderful place to go to for physical therapy and that they can help treat all sorts of health conditions.

My experience at Body Gears was great! Sean my Physical therapist was great!. The way they do therapy is better then many others I have gone to in the past. They spend the whole duration of therapy one on one with the patient. Sean massaged areas that were troublesome, taught me many exercises and stretches. He would personally show me how to do the stretches and exercises until I got the hang of them, if they were too difficult, he would instruct me to use a different method. I went there for my neck over a year ago and recently went for my hip and back, and have been using those same exercises and stretches today or any time I have trouble or stiffness. I would recommend Body Gears over many other Therapy centers. They generally get you start on your first appointment. While your waiting the staff are friendly and helpful.

I did a lot of research before choosing Body Gears Physical Therapy in Oakbrook for my hip fracture rehab. My black lab cut in front of me and tripped me while I was running with her on Christmas Day 2020 while training for a half marathon. I sustained a sub-capital fracture of my left hip and had three screws implanted in the femoral neck -- a procedure called "percutaneous pinning." My surgeon recommended this percutaneous pinning instead of a total hip replacement because it preserves bone and, if the break is clean enough, is a better option for younger, more active patients. But the recovery is longer and more difficult than a total hip replacement. I was looking for a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) because I needed someone to lead me through the rehab with a high level of care and expertise so that I would have the best chance of being able to run and work out again. Because I have osteoporosis (I'm 64 and thin and female), I've broken bones 11 times and have had a lot of experience with different physical therapy centers in the west suburbs. This is undoubtedly the best rehab center that I've encountered yet. The high quality of my rehab at Body Gears in Oakbrook was due in no small part due to physical therapist Bob LeBeau, PT, ScD, OCS , CFMT, FAAOMPT. The entire team there is very friendly and professional, and Bob's careful ministrations and depth of orthopedic knowledge have helped me immeasurably. They take their work VERY seriously at Body Gears. I've been to all of the "big box" physical therapy centers, which seem to have a lot of younger therapists who are just starting out in their careers and still building their body of knowledge. The atmosphere at these places is often a bit too casual, which is concerning for clients who want physical therapists to focus on the nuances of their recovery. Bob LeBeau, who teaches at the university level, has a depth of knowledge that I've only encountered in one other PT (Dr. Conroy at Conroy Orthopedics in Flossmoor, who also teaches at the university level and is an OCS). Bob is not only extremely knowledgeable, but very thorough in his approach, as well as relaxed and friendly. As we all know, when we've had a major injury, the healing that takes place is in the body, but also in the mind -- so it helps to have someone who is capable AND compassionate (and funny, since it helps to laugh as we move through the laborious process of healing from whatever surgery has put us back together again)! My experience with Bob and the staff at Body Gears was all of that and more. I hope I won't break any more bones, but if I do, this is where I'll head without hesitation to get stronger and hopefully back to the gym and the running trail. If you've had a major orthopedic injury of any kind, I highly recommend finding a PT who is an OCS, because they have the specialized knowledge that is necessary to follow the Hippocratic Oath to "first do no harm," while safely guiding you through your orthopedic recovery and giving you the best chance of getting back to the physical activities that you love. I'm six months out from my surgery and back at the gym doing light weight workouts and lap swimming and the elliptical. Bob has gotten me there and I hope to be running a 10K by summer 2022. If I could give him six stars, I would.

I’ve been to a couple of the most sought after physical therapists in Chicago for a variety of sports / training related injuries over the years. In my opinion, Lindsay Jana is the best of the best…. She has years of formal education, teaching and on-the-job experience BUT it’s her natural intuition of the human body, listening and sensing that makes her so effective. Lindsay is also a good boss and teacher - I have been treated by one of the other PTs, Sean, along with all the techs/assistants and it has been a very positive experience. The entire staff at Body Gears Oak Brook is highly effective and it’s worth the 30-40 minute drive for me because I know I will get better faster. And the front office is great too - professional, flexible, personable and fun… I always enjoy talking to Gina and Meredith when I arrive.
