    Was told that I had a 60 day return policy. IT IS NOT TRUE once you put that ring on your finger. I wore it around the house for a few days, AROUND THE HOUSE NOT DOING ANYTHING THAT WOULD CAUSE DAMAGE, and decided it was not the ring for me. Well I brought it back and they claimed it was worn, making it damaged and couldn't be returned! I will never shop there again. And I will tell everyone I know and come into contact with to avoid this store. If I could give zero stars I would!! The sales people just want to get you in, make their commission, and get you out. VERY UNSATISFIED.

    I normally don't write reviews, but my recent experience with the Michael Hill store at Oak Brook  left me confused and very disappointed. My brother has been shopping around a ring for his girlfriend for a while and finally found something worthwhile at this store. He's been in contact with the store manager, Leslie, who's been the handler of this entire experience. My brother found a ring he liked but wanted to compare it with a few other options which Leslie said she can easily order to the store. After 2 months of going back and forth to the store to review the options, my brother got irritated by the fact that Leslie lost the original ring he liked after putting money down as a deposit. Leslie claims it was a miscommunication, which we understand, but it was NOT handled well. Apparently there is no way to track the specific rings because they all have the same 'sku number' which as a costumer feels like the system of transferring rings from one store to another should be more organized. She says the only tracking is on the box it ships in. The whole experience was extremely uncomfortable because there was a lack of accepting responsibility from the store side. She made the whole shopping experience (which should be a happy experience) very irritating. She didn't take full responsibility and made it seem like it was my brother's fault. The main reason why I'm writing this is to express how upsetting this has been. An engagement ring is not just any product one purchases on a daily basis. It has tremendous sentimental value so the store should be handling each costumer with more empathy and care. I will also be proposing in the future and trust me when I say, I will never step into a Michael Hill store after this last performance from not just any sales associate, but the store manager. Makes me question how she trains her staff and ultimately how trustworthy is the brand itself.

    German was the one who greeted my fiance and I at the door and the one to give us the final handshake to congratulate us on finding my perfect ring & on our future together! He reassured us the whole time while answering all of our questions - and we had a lot! We went to about nine other stores before coming back to Michael Hill and we came back knowing full well that the ring he showed us the first time we went in was The One! German was very professional and like a loving dad. He shared his proposal story & was an overall personable person, which makes a big difference when you're spending money on a ring :) This review is about a month late but would never forget to. Thank you German!

    I used to work for this company back in my college years. However, that was at the Yorktown location. While I worked there though, my allegiance has always been to my local staff here at the Oak Brook shopping center, specifically with Holly, Minerva and German. These three really provide outstanding customer service and satisfaction.They obviously knew me from employment but even with that said, I've observed how helpful they've been to fellow shoppers within the store and have always taken their time to listen and help potentially expand one's point of view when it comes to shopping for a timepiece, ring, necklace, etc. Every purchase that I've made from here has always been excellent, their jeweler Andre, comes in every Tuesday and Friday to pick up and drop off items that need to be serviced, whether if it's an adjustment that needs to be done, or a free battery replacement on your timepiece, the work done has never disappointed me.Price here can obviously vary, ranging from something in the lower one hundred dollar range to if you get something certified and carried within their Evermore collection.. plenty to choose from. My only wish is that they carried a larger selection of watches, particularly for men with a leather band, but of course that's just my personal preference!
