I have always been an avid fan of Sees Candies and have been a faithful online customer over the hears. However, I just had a HORRIFIC experience at the Northbrook Court location. I'm not sure if the woman on staff was upset that she had to work on Labor Day or what her deal was but she was plain rude, brash and disrespectful! My mother and I were there and we were each planning to make purchases. My mother noticed another customer grabbing what she thought was a sample from a tray behind the counter. My mother unknowingly helped herself as well since she figured they were indeed samples. At that precise moment, the employee lashed out at my mother yelling at her at the top of her lungs "YOU CAN'T DO That" in a very condescending manner. I interjected at the moment and explained calmly that the other customer had done the same seconds before and it was an honest mistake but the employee wouldn't back down and began reprimanding us. Even if my mother had been in the wrong, you just don't treat a customer that way. It was very humiliating and she made us feel as if we were in there to rob the place which totally wasn't the case at all! Needless to say I informed her I'd be taking my business elsewhere. She lost two potential purchases because she was being irate and berating when she didn't have to be. I stormed out of there as she was still yelling things my way (when I told her she could at least be consistent when calling out people like that). She definitely needs some classes or tips in proper customer service. It's a shame I didn't get her name but at that point, I wanted to be the bigger person and just kept it classy. The reason I gave it one star at all is because I'm still a fan of the chocolates, just not the rude and ignorant salesperson behind the counter.
