Jack has been seeing therapists at NSPT since he was 4 years old...he will be 19 this year. NSPT has provided Jack with continuity. His 'girls' are Meghan and Ellyn. Ellyn has been Jack's therapist the entire time! She helped teach Jack how to hold a pencil and write his name; she's helped him tie his shoes; she's helped him learn to type on a computer; she's taught Jack how to navigate the mock kitchen and empty the dishwasher! She's has been a beacon of light for our family...an integral part of Jack's Team and an invaluable contributor at Jack's IEP meetings. Meghan is compassionate and caring - always with an infectious smile. She certainly knows her stuff and Jack. He may try to pull a fast one, but not with Meghan! How can I not mention Maureen and the office? Maureen lets Jack file papers in her office all the while knowing fully that her Diet Coke may be in jeopardy of a Jack swig?!?! We are grateful for NSPT and their commitment to helping children and young adults with developmental disabilities.

Unlike me, my son was struggling to become a super gabby person like his parents. Although not too worried about the slower development (he spoke, just had trouble with word formation) we set up a consult with North Shore Pediatric. The consultation recommended some additional 1:1 with a therapist...an amazing therapist but more on that later. Although not worried about my little buddy, I also wasn't going to stick my head in the sand and ignore a potential problem; so I quickly got on-board. Next step after three months was me crying in the waiting room as our not yet 3 yo went in by himself without his mommy, for his 1:1; full disclosure my hubby wasn't there or would have been a blubbering mess too!! He did great, he trusts his therapist immensely (also important!). At home my son starts talking about Ms. Meghan, who my hubby assumes is a new teacher at pre-school..but then he starts asking about seeing her the day before a non-school day and it finally occurs to him to ask his lovely wife who Ms Meghan is??! Meghan is the amazing therapist referred to above (see you didn't have to wait too long!) that my son has grown to love seeing as much as he loves seeing his cat (and that's a lot!!). Of equal, ok of more importance is the development of his language skills. He has made great progress with Meghan's help and I have even less concerns that he will just as verbose as his parents. Thank you Meghan and North Shire Pediatric!!

My son has made leaps and bounds here at NSPT in OT. He has always done well in therapies, but Ms. Holly makes it exciting and fun, my son looks forward to their sessions. I am SO VERY happy with everything she does to teach him in a way that is tailored to him. I recommend NSPT to every parent that is looking for a company that will help our kids thrive, making the most of their abilities and minimizing their limitations.
