Melissa and her student were great! I had difficulty at first having my new born latch and after 1 consult she was able to not only latch but actually nurse for a long period of time. Since that day I have been able to breastfeed her consistently and has made my life a lot easier. Currently she is using a nipple shield to feed but we hope to move her of the shield soon. Hopefully by our next consult! I highly recommend using north shore lactation.

I am a new mom and was struggling with breast feeding because my baby was born premature and was in the NICU. Melissa and her intern came to my house (fully masked due to covid-19) and helped me walk through various techniques on how to hold my baby, recognize early signs of hunger, and the confirmed ounce intake after a feed to give me confirmation that my baby was getting adequate amount of food. The followed up with me in an article with helpful links and a summary of our visit which I have referenced many times after their visit to my house!

Melissa was very quick to get us into her busy schedule and tailored our sessions to address any of our concerns! After our prenatal session, I felt so much more prepared for when our little girl was born, and our follow up consultation post-partum reassured me that our feedings were going well.
