Had used this company in the past to service our printers. Attempted to use them again when we had 2 machines that needed service which we dropped off on 10/07/20. Never heard word back for months, called in December 2020 to check on our machines and were told the business had closed and he now operated out of a storage unit and hadn't even looked over our machines and due to being out of town on extended vacation wouldn't be available to inspect them until April 20th, 2021! Not only would we have to wait months to get inspections but couldn't even get our machines back to service them elsewhere. Upon calling the end of April 2021 we were told the machines still were not inspected, we then followed up again a month later at the end of May and were finally given details of what fixes needed to be made. Then we were told he was again leaving for an extended absence of 4-5 weeks and our machines wouldn't even be repaired until after this next extended absence. Was also told to swap power supplies from one machine to the next as they were identical to get at least 1 running wouldn't be possible and would still cost as much as ordering a new part as he had to disassemble two machines to make one running one. Upon finally getting our machines back I performed the part swap deemed too complicated and time consuming in a total of 1 hour which I was told was going to be a $180 dollar service! Luckily for us all this place is out of business as no consideration was given to his customers or their time and productivity lost while our machines sat in a storage unit in disrepair for over half a year!

Mike has been in business for 40 years and he takes the old school approach. He's a mechanic; if it can be fixed, and if the parts are available, he can fix it. I took my Royal crosscut shredder to him because it wasn't getting power. He called and said the main control board was bad and that he could fix it for $85. The shredder cost me $200 and it was out of warranty but less that two years old so I thought that was a fair price. He said he'd order the part and call afterward. He called me today to say that the part is no longer stocked and he argued on my behalf. How do I know? I left his shop today with a brand new Royal crosscut shredder and the bill was $85. I could've taken the old one with me but I told him to keep it for parts. I feel that he did me a great service and I highly recommend his company to anyone needing repair of a Royal shredder. He is also the sole repair facility in Illinois for any Fellowes shredder. Honest, dependable and fair... What else could you hope for? Customer service like his is rare!
