Got a $45 diagnostic test here to see what exactly was wrong with my EVAP system. Once figured out Dan told me it would be $560 to fix. So I started calling around places and first place I called said $330, next place I called said $230 to fix. Point is - his prices are ridiculous.

Great mechanic. Honest guy, fair prices, and always breaks down the problem in detail with you. Dan doesn't fix things without doing his due diligence, and making sure he is repairing the root of the problem instead of a bunch of additional things to make a quick buck; like many other mechanics seem to do. I highly recommend Dan's Automotive.

I took my car to AAMCO next door to Dan's Automotive and after a week of screwing around, they told me that they couldn't fix my car, so they sent it to Dan's Automotive. I was told by AAMCO that Dan's would contact me the next day to let me know what they found out about my car. I finally called back THREE DAYS LATER to find out they had not looked at the car yet. I was told by Dan's that they would call me back in an hour or two and that they were going to go diagnose it right then. 6 hours later, I finally received a call back that I had a rod knock. 2 days later they call me back and say they verified the rod knock and gave me engine prices, which were all ridiculously high for a 1991 Camry, which shares engines with around 15 different year/make toyotas. After giving the go-ahead, knowing I had no other choices, they told me the total would be almost Two Grand for a salvaged 160k engine with labor. They told me 3-5 days for the engine to be delivered, then about a day for the engine job. Ok, not TOO bad a price for that fast of a job. Well, I already paid the 500 bucks up front for the engine. It's 3/101/4, and after I called THEM again, they finally tell me "yeah the engine got here friday, but we probably won't get to your car until NEXT MONDAY"! Seriously, avoid this shop like the plague. They do not bother to keep you up to date on your vehicle, and if you rely on your car as much as me and my family, this shop will leave you without a ride far longer than any others in the area. AAMCO was great, and friendly, but they lost a lot of my trust because of their relationship with such a horrendous shop.
