No walk in visits, and the adoption process is a bit drawn out and involves checking all of your previous pets for shots and annual exams. Considering what other options are out there, its easier to visit other shelters. If you fall in love with one of the dogs on their website, it might be worth it though. Im sure the dogs at the shelter are much loved and well cared for.

I suffer from depression and social anxiety. I came here and I found Bowser and decided hes my healer. Indeed, he is. Life is so much more colorful, vibrant, and happier with Bowser who I renamed Kai because he is my little handsome cuddly warrior.

I fostered a dog thru WSHS last month. It didn't take long before I decided there was no way i was ever giving the him up - I became a "foster failure" and adopted him 9 days later. He is the 2nd dog I have adopted from WSHS and I could not be happier with the experience or with the support i received from the staff and volunteers. I HIGHLY recommend WSHS because they put the well-being of the animals first. If you're not sure about adoption - do what i did and consider the foster program at WSHS; you won't be sorry.
