Friends Sushi

I was visiting Chicago and noticed that Friends got good reviews. I stopped in for a quick lunch. The Oyako (eggdrop and chicken soup) was nothing short of remarkable. Most eggdrop soups are too thick with cornstarch or whatever it is. This soup was incredibly light and flavorful with tons of egg, tender chicken thighs, and shiitake mushrooms (I believe). The dashi broth was a touch sweet and perfect. I cannot say enough good things about this simple soup. I also ordered two pieces each of smoked salmon and eel sashimi. Both were very good. I cannot wait to have a much longer meal at Friends and devour my way through the menu.

The food is decent,the location is crowded and small so maybe it's better to order for takeout.

It was good, but I have had better! Sushi was tasteful and nice, but lacked something. The cocktails were great! We had a wine, which was not up to the mark, so our waiter changed it for us and also recommended a better one. All said, it was a lil on the expensive side for the quantity of food. Definitely would go elsewhere before considering coming here again. Also, service however was great and my waitress was very attentive.

This was a wonderful experience...Tried Friends Sushi for restaurant week and must say....The best sushi I've ever had and the staff was awesome. I will definitely return!!
