I will never forget my friend went in this shelter and these people were truly cruel to her. I will never forget the endless days where she would call me crying and I didn't have a place for her to sleep at the time and her abuser knew where I stayed. It was so unfortunate she had to endure the treatment the staff give her and with it being family run and extra religious it was not an inviting or warm place. It was a horrible experience for her. Maybe it sounds bad but I feel like God sees everything and when you treat people like animals YOU WILL have to account for that, No mater how you thought you were such an upstanding Christian. I pray this place gets the help it needs and the women that end up here don't end up more battered then before they came...

I would like to start off by saying this, the mission of this organization is a good one. The purpose of this organization is to help victims of domestic violence. They are supposed to offer help with immediate emergency housing , counseling services Etc. But this is the furthest thing from what they actually do. I have never in my life worked in an organization in which upper management is so cruel, evil and mean-spirited to their employees. Be warned, if you choose to work here you will have many complaints. Unfortunately there will be no one to complain to. The organization is run by two sisters ...one of which is the HR manager, and the other is the executive director. Due to the fact that they are sisters there is literally no one to send your grievances to. There is supposed to be a board of directors in which you can complain too but unfortunately the board of directors is not posted on the company website nor is it in the handbook therefore it's almost like a ghost board of directors... no one at all to complain to. During my short tenure there, I had been subjected to being called stupid, nappy-headed , lazy Etc. In your interview ...IF you choose to work at the administrative building or if you are chosen to work at the administrative building, they will tell you that you get off every day at 5 p.m. That is not the truth. All employees at the administrative building get off of work at 6:30, they mislead you by saying that you will be getting off late on some days or on certain occasions but in actuality they really expect you and demand that you stay every day until 6:30, even if your work is complete. Not only do they force you to stay until 6:30, but they also force you to wait for every other employee to complete their work before you leave. They force you to wait in the waiting area until everyone is done and then everyone must leave the building together. If you have a car you must wait until the executive director and the HR manager gets into their own vehicles and pull off and then u are expected to follow. You cannot leave or pull off in your vehicle first. Many of the employees understand that this is not fair but due to the fact that there is literally no one to complain to everyone fears saying anything at all. The HR Director at organization is a very very vicious person, hostile and abusive ...in fact not only to the employees, but also to the clients. This place is depressing and no one stays there longer than a year. It truly is a revolving door. If you value your sanity and self respect please look elsewhere for employment.
