I was permanently injured after a discectomy laminectomy in 2015 by Dr Zachary Smith. He cut into my Dural / thecal sac, permanently injuring my spinal nerve roots. A surgical reapair also in 2015 caused Arachnoiditis and sensory nerve loss in both legs and feet. In Oct. 2016 a third surgery at Mayo clinic became necessary for I lost control of my bowl and bladder functions. I am no longer able to work and I am on long term disability because of this. Please. Do not undergo surgery with Dr Smith

Had C-4 C-5 direction and fusion. Surgery went perfectly. No more problems! Healing went great and I’m back to riding my motorcycle without any issues! Dr. Smith was great and I recommend him for anyone needing neck or back surgery.

Excellent outcome from C3-7 laminectomies and C2-T1 posterior fusion with instrumentation performed by Dr. Zachary Smith. I was so apprehensive and reluctant to have the surgery done but after researching specialists in NW Indiana and Chicago areas, my discussion with Dr. Smith , who used illustrations and outlined specific steps required to repair my spine, led me to feel relieved and confident in Dr. Smith's skills to have the work done. His team including his nurse, nurse practitioner and neuro residents and interns were as thorough and attentive as Dr. Smith. I am forever grateful for the superior resource as close as Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the superb skills possessed by Dr. Zachary Smith. Thank you so much.
