For the past 30 years I have lived in 6 different homes between Chicago, Illinois and Michigan and have been planning on my 7th move, but this time to my ‘Forever Home’ in Indiana. Because I’m moving possessions from 2 locations in 2 different states to yet a 3rd state, I wanted to find the best, most reliable movers I could find, and well in advance of my move so I can be sure everything is scheduled without issue. I selected one of the big name companies that everyone would recognize, and I set it up. A month and half later my move is approaching and I decide to research movers for the 2nd leg of my move from Chicago to Indiana. I went on several search sites and received a few responses. But one gentlemen called me from a company called “Best Cost Movers”. Eric, who also owns the company, discussed my needs with me, and he was extremely knowledgeable, confident and well spoken. At some point during our conversation, I mentioned I’d be moving from my other location in just one week… This peaked his attention, and as we discussed further, he explained why his company is extremely high-rated, and they don’t co-mingle your possessions with other people’s items (as the big moving companies do). He also mentioned they have the very best prices, and that the quality of their work is such that they often find themselves catering to the more affluent clientele due to the level of additional services they provide. I was so thoroughly impressed by him and what he offered, it was hard not to consider taking a chance and making a switch… even though my biggest move of the two was only 6 days away! To make a long story short, he was able to evaluate both moves and set me up with a price for BOTH moves that far exceeded expectations and will save me a TON of money. Although I was nervous about changing my moving plans very last minute and not knowing the quality work I would get from this company… I was convinced beyond a doubt it was worth taking a chance. Eric calmed my nerves and patiently reassured me every step of the way. I cannot tell you how happy I am for having made the switch to “Best Cost Movers”. The 3 men who came out were extremely personable, friendly, articulate and fun personalities. ….and THEY WORKED! Boy did they work! And they took such extreme care of everything they packed. In fact, even items that we wrapped, like fragile items, etc., they wrapped even a 2nd time to ensure those extra special items are well prepared for the journey. The quality, speed, efficiency and care they displayed was phenomenal… And the unpacking and placing of items (including an extra favor or two I requested of them), resulted in the best experience I’ve ever had in all these years working with movers. I am extremely happy I took a chance and switched to “Best Cost Movers”… and I’m so happy they will be attending to the 2nd leg of my move in June 2019. I know they will do an equally amazing job. “Best Cost Movers” are “First Class Movers” and will be my go-to moving company going forward! Highly, highly recommended! Thank you to Eric for helping me make the right choice! And thanks to an amazing crew! And special mention to John, the foreman for the move, who showed a great deal of leadership with his team, as well as innovation as I watched him try 6 or 7 different ways of moving large furniture pieces into complicated areas. He doesn’t give up! Neither did his team. Great work! Well done!

****UPDATE 8/4/19***** The owner contacted my dad and said he would only send the money if my reviews were taken down. So we can add !!!EXTORTION!!! to the list.***** To be plain and simple, this company is run by thieves. My parents hired them for downsizing, so everything was going from their house to a storage. The movers arrived HOURS late, and on top of that were short 2 movers that we were told would be there. They knew my parents home was almost 3,000 sq ft and tried to do the moving with only 3 people. On top of starting late, it took all day because they didn't bring enough people, so much so that they had to move a few items the following day!!! The movers scuffed up the newly painted walls, dropped an armoire and broke furniture (pictures attached). Let's get to the thievery bit now. My parents were charged $20 per moving pad, and were charged for 60 pads after the mover clearly had no idea how many were actually used. My parents were promised half of what they were charged per pad to be refunded when they came to pick up the pads. There ended up only being 44, and on top of that the $600 check my parents were given bounced!!! After that, my father was promised a certified check in the mail that never arrived. They charged for pads that weren't used, picked them up and gave my dad the run around with the refund. $600!!!!!! THIEVES!!! Never use this company, STAY AWAY!!! We will be contacting the better business bureau and I will leave a review on every website there is so that no one else gets taken advantage of the way my parents were. Absolutely terrible. I'd be willing to bet these good reviews are fake because most of them are the only review posted by that account.

DO NOT HIRE!!! The worst moving experience of my life! First piece of advice: Never pay up front for a move! UPDATE: OUR MONEY HAS NOT BEEN REFUNDED!!! IT HAS BEEN TWO MONTHS AND HE WILL NOT RESPOND TO REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT HIM! Second piece of advice: When things go wrong you CAN NOT RELY on Eric and Best Cost Movers. Eric yelled at me, THE CUSTOMER, for 15 minutes when I didn't appreciate him failing to perform the service he was contracted, and paid, to do. The Story: We hired Eric and Best Cost movers on June 14th, 2019 to do a 2 house, two truck move on Saturday June 29th, 2019. On Friday June 28th, Eric called with bad news to say our June 29th Saturday morning, 2 house, 2 truck move was going to be a one truck move. More bad news when he called an our later to say it was going to start later than planned. Even worse news when called another hour later to say he had no trucks and couldn't move us on the planned date! DISASTER!!! So at 7pm on a Friday night we have no movers and one of the houses needs to be out by July 1st! So I said I had to move myself, somehow. Eric offered to compensate me for the cost of my move and give us back the money for my part of the move. We agreed to talk on July 1st to finalize details. On Monday, July 1st, I texted Eric at 6am. I left him two voice messages. At 9 am he texted me to say he'd call me when he got into the office. At 7pm he had not contacted me at all, so I sent another text and left another voice message. To recap, he has our money, he's done no work, and he's not returning my calls. As he was referred by our Real Estate Agent, I contacted her to appraise her of the situation. She texted me to apologize and say that she contacted him and that he would call me soon. At 10 he tried to call while I was in a meeting at work. Then he called my partner and told her he'd move her on Sunday 7/7/2019. I still wanted to talk to him so I left another text and VM. He finally called me at 11:30am and started the conversation with, "I already talked with [your wife] I don't know why we're even talking." After that he began yelling, threatening not to do the 2nd move, then negotiating with me about me not disparaging his company, then laughing at me when I told him how much it cost me (remember he promised to compensate me for my move) to throw together a last minute move on Saturday morning, then flat out declaring he is not going to do the 2nd move, then accusing me of wanting him to do a free move, and so on and so on. I told him he was not going to do the move, that he was in breach of contract and that he needed to give us our money back. He laughed and said, "Good luck with that, it'll take 3 to 6 business days and you've got the 4th of July in there so you'll have to deal with that!" Honestly, in my 30 years as a consultant I have never taken that tone and been that rude to a customer. His behavior was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. It's been 6 days and we still do not have our money back. I've contacted an attorney. Do not trust Eric. I'm sure there are people that have written positive reviews and have had a positive experience, but what reveals a person's character is how they behave when things aren't going their way. Eric is NOT the guy you want to deal with when things go wrong. I wish I could give 0 stars.
