We had been to Via Carducci on Fullerton once before about a year ago. The food, service and ambiance were good. We went back this weekend (the first time back in a year) and the food was OK. The service and ambiance were AWFUL. Food: First we ordered a bottle of wine only to be told they did not have it on stock. The food came out on time (probably because there were only four other couples dining). The appetizer of Italian sausage was good; however, my main course of Eggplant Parmesan was greasy (you could taste the fryer grease) and drowning in a thick layer of melted mozzarella. Ambiance and Service: We were kindly greeted when we walked in and told we could sit anywhere we liked. The TV was on at the bar, showing the 9 o'clock evening news... it was blaring throughout the restaurant. Not exactly what we had in mind for a romantic dinner out... When we (kindly) asked that the TV be turned off, we overheard the hostess (and, we're assuming owner/manager) complaining about us asking that the TV be turned off. After the TV was turned off, no music was turned on. I could only describe the ambiance from that point forward as being extremely awkward. All of the diners were whispering their conversations and all you could hear were clanking of silverware and dishes. The other diners were also commenting on the silence and lack of music. We then overheard our waiter telling other diners that we asked for the TV to be turned off... nice! We spoke to the diners next to us about the reaction from the manager when we asked the TV be turned off. They told us that every time they've dined at Via Carducci on Fullterton the staff has been "bitchy" and they'e just grown to expect bad service. Needless to say we'll never be returning.

Great Italian food all around. We've been ordering take out for years, the pizzas are excellent, great salads too!! Recently we ordered the veggie pizza and it was so delicious I had to leave a review. I've tried several pizza places in the neighborhood but this is by far the best for delivery.

Great neighborhood 'go to' place. Snappy service, consistently good. Very good thin crust pie too.
