This is a horrible insurance - in times of corona virus pandemic, they have the decency to explain that this is something that it is not covered in their policy. I waited 3 months for them to actually provide a response and actually cover something essential such as cancellation due to high level of risk contracting the virus. I spoke with tons of representatives and none of them was really helpful in explaining the situation. I would strongly advise against purchasing a travel insurance from this firm. It's a waste of time & money!

Awful!!! I've called 3 times and I still haven't received my full refund. I think it's how they keep their money....playing stupid and denial.

I also had a terrible experience with AON Affinity travel insurance. My husband and I booked a cruise to Cozumel back in May, scheduled to embark in early September, with a dear friend of ours and her daughter. Our friend was in remission from cancer, and we hoped to give her a taste of luxury and indulgence while she could enjoy it. We also knew things with her were unpredictable and uncertain, so we made sure to add travel insurance to our package. It was terribly unfortunate, but our friend's deteriorated significantly and unexpected over the summer. By the time we would depart, she was much too ill to take the trip, and because we were really doing it for her, we did not wish to take the trip without her. I was never given anything in writing, spelling out specifics on what circumstances would void a claim. We cancelled the trip and submitted the claim, including all the forms AON required to view our claim. They dragged things out for three months, eventually sending a letter informing us our claim was being denied due to our friend's illness being a "pre-existing condition". Excuse me, but what's the purpose in getting trip insurance if they aren't going to cover things that can go wrong? After reading the other reviewer's critique, I'm more convinced than ever that all this so-called insurer does is find ways to void the protection for which travelers purchase these policies. This a very sleazy outfit IMO, and I only hope by sharing my experience here, some other potential customer won't get burned the way we did.

My experience with Affinity Insurance Services, Aon, was horrible. I purchased trip insurance in the event something happened from the time I booked my vacation to the time I was able to enjoy my vacation 4 months later. After booking my vacation, I became pregnant with our first child. Due to the Zika outbreak in Mexico, my doctor suggested that my husband and I no longer travel to Mexico. I put in a claim through, including my doctors note, to use the travel insurance we had purchased to cancel our trip. They denied the claim, and said I would have to have an illness such as the flu, however the Zika virus is not an illness. Not only was I shocked they would not cover this, each person I talked with was rude, unable to help, and continued repeating the same thing. My husband and I travel frequently, and I will never buy travel insurance through them again. Working with them honestly felt like a scam.
