I am a health insurance provider. I have billed over $10,000 worth of claims to Aetna and my payment has either been "Paid" with no money sent to my business account via EFT. Some claims are "Waiting for Funding" and the claim was submitted 3 months ago.
I have contacted Aetna multiple times regarding this issue and I get the same run around of automated system messages and cannot get an answer for why my services are not receiving remittance payments.
I am advising ALL of my patients to choose a different health insurance career. I have spoken to my clearing house and my malpractice insurance. They have told me that I am not the only person having issues with Aetna and that it's quite common.
Aetna is single-handedly destroying small market healthcare facilities. Please save yourself the headache and do not use them. I speak from experience.

Dont call them if you need help.they will keep you on hold and pass you around between 6 or 7 incompetent people who refuse to help you for hours and days on end. They think they know better than your doctor and will tell you to take drugs that have caused issues in the past because after 10 years of paying for your prescription they just decide they arent going to cover you anymore. They are rude and disrespectful and their customer service is the worst ever. Would not do business with them if they were the only insurance company on earth. They will also make you go to a hospital 45 minutes away because the one 10 minutes away is not in their network risking your life in an emergency with the extra 30 minute ambulance ride. Horrible company I cant believe they could get licenses to do business. 10 thumbs down
