A great place, but, sadly, on April 26,2021 the space was totally cleared out and appeared close for good.

I have been having Jennifer style my hair for 12 years. Went in for trim yesterday and received the same great service and style. I travel to downtown Chicago, about 10 miles one way. Thanks Jenn. I wouldn't go any where else!

I came here to get my hair chopped off after growing it out for 5 years. I'm about 4'10, it was down to my butt and it became extremely hard to manage; made showering and brushing it out an absolute nightmare. Normally I'm very anxious about going to get my hair cut just because I've had bad experiences in the past, but this time, I was really looking forward to it. Kind of like a fresh, new start after the show that was 2020. I was originally supposed to have my haircut with Vivian but she was out for 2 weeks because she contracted COVID-19. When I came in, I had 3 pictures with me of this hair cut - the front, back and the sides. I had to tell Jennifer I was going for a sexy, 70's shag with lots of layers, volume and texturizing. When I sat in Jennifers chair and showed her the pictures, she didn't even really look at them and didn't do a real consultation either. She just asked me "is your hair wavy?" And I told her yes, it did have a little bit of wave to it when it's short but it's just pin straight right now because of the weight of my hair. I felt as if she doubted me from the start. She just started brushing it and asking if I wanted to donate it, but we ended up giving up because my hair was so tangled and damaged. I understand that she probably just started cutting it to get the weight off and make me feel 'lighter', but it worried me that she wasn't going to be able to give me what I wanted because we didn't really do a consultation. I used to go to cosmetology school, so I know how a consultation should go and this was far from it. After she started cutting it and working on layering, we got a little chatty, but she didn't really have anything nice to say. Just very stand offish, and bitchy, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt because she had broken her wrist on New Year's Day while walking on the ice. After about an hour or so, we finally got to the bangs portion of my hair and she tried to talk me into curtain bangs because "you have a natural cowlick in the front of your hair and if we give you straight across bangs, it'll split down the middle and won't look good." I had to tell her that I have had straight across, piecey and texturized bangs before and that this cowlick was a trained cowlick form the weight of my hair. She did NOT believe me and had the audacity to say "show me." So I, as a paying client, had to go into my phone and on my personal Facebook page to pull up a picture of myself from 2015 with bangs exactly like the ones in this photo. And even with cold hard proof, she didn't think that it was me in the picture because of my blue hair. So that really ticked me off and irritated the out of me. Then when she started cutting my bangs, she literally said "I want bangs!!" In a mockingly high-pitched voice that made her sound childish and immature even though she's been doing hair for 30 years. And even then she still didn't cut them short enough or texturized them so now they just kind of look like and don't mesh with the rest of the cut. I'm convinced she did it just to be a petty bitch because I didn't take her advice on the bangs. I will say I do love the hair cut that she gave me, but her customer service SERIOUSLY needs some work for a 50 year old woman. In my personal opinion, I don't even think she should be in business considering how she spoke to me about my hair. If you're thinking of going here, schedule with Tj or Vivian. While I was there, Tj was so sweet and kind to me and I appreciate him for that. But Jennifer is just a bitch. Pandemic/broken wrist or not, it's no excuse to treat your clients poorly, mock them to their face and screw up their bangs just because said client didn't agree with you. I did get some mousse that I love. But after this experience, I'm going to be taking my business elsewhere. I suggest you do the same, if you're looking to have a fun, lighthearted and endearing experience with someone who actually cares and has quality, top notch customer service and styling skills. I did get a referral from my best friend to go to RICKIE at REMARKED SALON. The only reason I didn't go to her is because I thought she was on maternity leave, but I will be taking my business to her from this point on, because Jennifer's attitude honestly hands down ruined this experience for me.
