Might as well lock yourself in the jail! They don't respect your rights, they don't have any respect for clients needs, & no respect for hipaa laws! If you are a person that needs to do anything then dont come here there is no recovery here!

Hi Ladies. I resided in A Safe Havens Family Interim Program from October 2021-December 2021 escaping Domestic Violence and in search of shelter. This place is very similar to a jail. It is infested with mice and roaches and droppings were visible underneath thin mattresses provided. The Case Managers and Resident Aids have a high turnover rate due to their refusal to participate in providing the poor compensation, long hours and conditions/treatment of which the residents receive. Most are older African American women whom are mothers themselves but are condescending, intrusive and only remain hired due to tenor or past relatability regarding substance abuse or homelessness. Health services arent provided by licensed therapists. Residents are forced to clean the facility (chores) but deep cleaning is highly needed. There is an incredible lack of safety, organization as well as programs for children. Very unprofessional staff. The food isnt properly cooked. I refused to serve myself & my daughter on a many occasions from their kitchen and ate out instead prior to arriving from work. In fact, bloody meat, cold toppings as well as a bug was found in our food. Complaints were made due to harassment my babygirl and I received but no changes were made. Snack Food (chips, juice, cookies, milk, hard candy) is proclaimed to be allowed but isnt unless they give it to you or the alloted day of the week for Food Purchased Out arrives for the individuals within your program. Dreary holidays. Easy accessibility to #12,#94 and #49, Western Pink Line as well as California Green Line and Collins HS,Chalmers Elementary School of Excellence (3/5) Mrs.Rory,Ms.Nicole and Ms.Syreeta were the very few select staff that were: motivating and highly assisting regarding the granting of Movement Passes ,simple/respectful communication. Ms.Lisa,Ms.Williams (Asst. Program Director) Ms.Delany (Program Director) need to be reported for their unprofessionalism. Please remain vigilant in finding your own housing. Remain stoic, optimistic and keep your children close if entering this Interim Family Program.
