Enigma helped immediately with my building. I found them on thumbtack where they have over 150 reviews and was happy with the fast service.

We hired Enigma Electrical on Thumbtack to replace and upgrade our home’s control panel. The company had mostly excellent reviews and offered an estimate of $1,200, which was much lower than the other bid we received. The electrician, Keith L., requested $600 in advance for the parts, which we paid right away. He arrived on time the morning of April 5 and got right to work. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the quality of work and poor customer service provided during and after the project. For example, Keith never mentioned we would be without power for 8 hours, so we had to discard most of the food in our fridge. He also left all of his garbage and spare parts in our basement. Following the project, we immediately informed Keith that several lightbulbs had stopped working (all were working before he arrived). Although Keith denied responsibility for the lightbulbs, he offered to replace the ballast in a florescent lighting fixture near the control panel for $20, just the cost of the part. We paid him immediately. The next morning, we woke up to find our boiler, which supplies heat to the entire house, hadn’t turned on that night. Keith returned to the house and attempted to fix the boiler himself. When he couldn’t, he referred us to a boiler repairman who replaced the transformer for $315 and told us that the electrician must have “dropped the neutral onto the ground and shorted everything.” We asked the repairman to repeat that information, and we wrote it down, so we could share it with Keith verbatim. We sent Keith a direct message outlining the damages he caused. We asked him to reimburse us for $372.27, the cost to fix our boiler, ballast and replace lightbulbs. Keith messaged us back, “Are you trolling my profile!?” He then called and was very confrontational over the phone, accusing us again of trolling and lying. He said he would check with his boiler repair guy and get back to us. In a text message that same day, Keith told us the repairman never said he “dropped a neutral wire to the boiler circuit.” That's not true. We're not electricians. We couldn’t have made that up ourselves if we wanted to. He also texted that our “boiler was already not working,” which is not true. Our boiler was installed in 2017, was cleaned/checked less than a year ago, and was working when Keith began his work. Finally, Keith texted that “I believe you’re just trying to get over on me for going over budget.” Again, not true. The money isn't the issue. The issue is that if you break something, you should fix it. Throughout the entire process, we were honest, polite and respectful. That’s how we treat anyone who comes into our home and that’s how we expect people to treat us in return. Our experience with Keith and Enigma Electrical taught us that it’s important to read all of the reviews, including the 1-star reviews. If you go on Thumbtack, you’ll see that Keith has accused several other customers of “trolling” him. We had hoped for a 5-star experience. Instead, when we expressed our dissatisfaction, Keith accused us of trolling, lying and trying to cheat him out of money. We’re leaving this review to tell other homeowners about our experience and we hope others can avoid having the same experience we did with Enigma Electrical.
