First off I have to say the dr that took care of me was wonderful. He took care of a medical emergency while I was in the er and appreciate him for that. However, I called this office multiple times for a follow up on my surgery and was told the dr would call me back in a day or two. After five days and a few more calls they told me they only had one appointment available (two days away) and I needed a referral. I tried to explain that it was just a follow up but they said I still needed one. So I emailed my pcp and my insurance and they faxed one over. Day of appointment I get there, the staff tells me that they cannot accept my insurance (even with the referral) AND that the Dr wasn’t there do to an emergency. The emergency I can understand, but don’t know why they couldn’t call to let me know so I wouldn’t have to miss work. Also after talking to my insurance they said that due to it being an emergency and the referral that that there shouldn’t have been any problem. So now I have to start over with a new Dr for a reversal surgery. Frustrating experience.
