Urban Kayaks on the Lakefront

A cool way to see the city from the water. It was a very casual experience - they verified my reservation, sent me over to a quick safety video, and then sent me on my way. I would describe some of the staff as happy and chill and some of the staff as disinterested and curt. The kayaking itself is great - not a problem for beginners. I recommend either wearing swim shorts / swimsuit or bringing a change of clothes, because my shorts were soaked afterward from the already-wet kayak I was assigned. Next time, I'd try the river kayaking location, bring my own kayak, or rent a boat with friends. I can see how this would be a great experience for those that really like kayaking, SUP, or want to do something with their pets.

I am a boater out of DuSable Harbor. on Labor Day and I and a number of other boats were trying to enter the harbor there were three Kayakers at the mouth of the harbor. It was hard to see them due to the setting sun. We and other boaters yelled at them to get out of the mouth of the harbor and seemed to be oblivious to the chaos they were creating. Someone could have been seriously injured.

Poor customer service. Unresponsive to emails. Made reservations for SUP rental, showed up and were unable to go out due fo high winds- which was fine - safety first and all, but they didn’t call or try to contact me to let me know that rentals were cancelled for the day. So I wasted a trip and parking fees. I want a refund and have yet to hear back after a few emails.

This is such a fun experience! Probably the highlight of my trip! Our instructor name was Andy. He was so sweet and patient. It was my first time paddle boarding with me and my two other friends! He definitely made the experience a better. But you get two hours to paddle board and the water felt so nice when we went in at noon! The view is so pretty. Just an overall fun experience!

Nick was awesome! Came through when I needed him most. Definitely coming back again. Even helped me with my bike haha
