Waffles Cafe

We waited for twenty minutes to place our order and another half hour to receive it. In the meantime we were served coffee that did not belong to us. When we made a hostess aware that we had not ordered it, she took it to the side where it sat for five minutes until it was re-served(!) to the correct table. Further, the table next to us was wiped off, leaving grime behind. This would be somewhat excusable if their tables were not covered in chalk, clearly showing where the table had not been cleaned. When our food arrived, mine (Plain and Simple) was cold, the eggs were overcooked, and the hashbrown was burnt. We ended up not paying for either breakfast (I didn't eat mine) but that does not excuse the poor cleanliness, poor service, and poor food quality we, and other patrons, received.

The food itself was okay, but as others have said, the value is not great for the price. Portion sizes could definitely be bigger for the prices. Service was absolutely appalling. I waited 5 minutes to even be greeted at the table, and even then the waitress simply said, "Anything to drink? Are you ready to order?" After my friend and I ordered (finally), we didn't see our waitress again until more than halfway through our meal. I had to actually get up and hunt down another employee every time I needed something. I shouldn't have to yell across the room or get up to find an employee when I need something while dining, that's the point of table service. When we were ready to leave, our server was nowhere to be found. We had our credit cards on the table for ten minutes before I went to ask another employee for the check and a manager. The manager also took ten minutes to come out, then just said, "Did you have a question?" Yeah, I'm questioning why I even came here. Overall, the food is not a good value and the service was worse than McDonald's. Even though I live around the block, I probably won't be back.
