I would say The worst management Ive ever seen in terms of handling the problems of students. I wish I could give them 0 stars. The management doesnt seem to care about the problems, they dont respond on time. All they care about is the rent and nothing . Ive been reporting problems regarding laundry , pest but, they just ignore these things and they dont answer the calls. WORST MANAGEMENT EVER.!

This is a huge, old 1950s high-rise apartment complex that has not been renovated/updated/modernized. It is in a very boring and isolated area on the south side of Chicago that lacks restaurants, entertainment, etc. There are 9 buildings that resemble public housing projects. The buildings are dirty and rundown, especially the 5 mid-rise buildings. The apartments are heated by old radiators and have drafty, old single pane windows that freeze over with ice in the winter. Your apartment will get very cold and very hot, and you cannot control the temperature. The buildings are not air conditioned. Some of the apartments have window unit air conditioners if the last resident left them behind. The management charges more for those apartments. Most of the apartments do not have these, so you will have to pay for your own window units and pay to have them installed, or be hot all summer. The buildings do not have fire sprinkler systems, which is a huge safety issue. Many of the windows are missing screens, which is a building code violation. Lots of spiders, flies, and other insects get in during the summer. They say it's a non-smoking community, but there is a constant problem with people smoking. The kitchens and bathrooms are small and gross. The kitchens have old 1950s metal cabinets that have many layers of lead paint on them. The cabinets and all the doors in the apartments are hard to open and close because they have been painted over so many times over the last 70+ years. There are pests in the buildings, and the management does not do preventative pest control. They only have an exterminator come to individual apartments upon request. The buildings do not have any door personnel. There are two security guards for the entire complex that drive around and offer no real assistance. They are completely ineffective, and there have been many vehicle break-ins and other crimes committed on the property. As far as amenities, there really are not any. The 4 high-rise buildings have small workout rooms that have a few dumbbells, a single weight bench, and a few pieces of cardio equipment. These can only be accessed by residents in those four buildings. The other 5 buildings have nothing. Oh, they also consider the laundry rooms (which you have to pay per machine to use) an amenity. The apartments are way overpriced. The only people they can get to move in are clueless IIT international students from India who they con into signing leases before they get to the US. The students get here and then find several roommates to split the rent, which makes the buildings really overcrowded and causes constant pest infestations. Anyone who is not from a third world country would probably find Lake Meadows unsuitable.

It's been a month since I have been trying to apply for a lease but no response from the management. I have scheduled a tour, filled contact forms, started application in the website but no one is responding properly. I am desperate to take a lease and have a home to move in but I'm only getting frustration and anxiety whether the apartment is still available or not. Please kindly respond and make this a stress free process.
