        I had a banquet here. The food was pretty good for the purpose. They close a little early, which is odd.

        This is a historic German restaurant in Chicago and specializes both in comfort food and comfort atmosphere. We visited here during Christmas time, and the whole place was decked. The children could play games while the adults enjoyed good food. I ordered an oxtail and tasted their steak, and both were delicious. We had a party of 20 and had our own room booked with our own Christmas tree.

        I LOVE German food. I have seen this place forever on my trips to Chicago and finally decided to try it out. Unfortunately I did not stay for a meal. They have their own brewery and do not have any German or European beer. This kind of ruined it for me. I had a pint of so so beer and left.

      Hi Jon, we are sad to see your experience with us was not what you were expecting. You are correct, we don’t carry German or European brands of beer. We do however, have our own in-house brewery. Our Master Brewers Jim & Mark are at the realm of Adams Street Brewery. Between both of them they have over 55 years of expertise. They carefully craft our classic German styles like Lager, Dunkel, Pilsner, Vienna Lager and Hefeweizen. We are currently brewing our Märzen preparing for Oktoberfest, definitely a huge favorite as well. We use top quality barley, hops, wheat imported from Europe and most importantly we stay true to the German style of brewing process. We hope you’ll give us another chance and definitely try the food!
