We had occasion to call Schoonover Sewer Services several times after our basement toilet overflowed. Follow-ups were complicated as all calls are handled by an answering service and not the company. After a day of waiting and two more of their visits, they suggested to contact Fred's Plumbing to install an cleanout riser (after failing to find any existing one using their video inspection equipment). The cleanout, which Schoonover does not install, was needed to perform their high pressure hydro-jetting to open the clog. After much excavation of our backyard, Fred's discovered that Schoonover had marked an inappropriate location to install a cleanout and furthermore, Fred's own video inspection revealed that a cleanout riser already existed on a different side of our house. Schoonover used this cleanout riser to unclog the sewer line which has been functioning perfectly since. Bottom line: $750 to Schoonover for hydro-jetting and $1170 to Fred's for (prompt, competent, but unneeded) excavation. We will not be calling Shoonover again.
