My favorite Sandpoint store. Always find just the perfect item for either a gift or for my own cupboard. Friendly staff, varied selection of artwork and jewelry. Practical art in the form of mugs and coasters, too.

We visited on Saturday, August 19th in the afternoon. Our visit was atrocious. We stopped in, hoping to find a coop style Indigenous forward establishment. We were wrong. When asking the store clerk if any of the artists on display were locals, they they replied with a claim that the local Indigenous peoples don't make crafts and lie by "buying all their crafts from China" and that this store has the only "Legitimate Native American goods in town.' This sentiment is absolutely disgusting. Last time we checked, most indigenous people don't sell head dresses as props.

The blue lizard is an iconic standpoint store it's perfectly classic authentic wonderful atmosphere. natives from all over the region and some further away contribute to the store. all handcrafted authentically made, I myself have a couple of Navajo ring and I've had it for over 10 years if you were ever going through Sandpoint I recommend stopping at the blue lizard they're perfect gifts for a loved one or something to up your style and if you want to broaden your awareness for native culture they offer books with stories on our history. It's in a perfect spot so you can easily walk there from all the amenity areas downtown you can get ice cream next door or if you're hungry there are burgers down the way, and if you happen to drop in, say hello to my long time family friend Jackie love you girl.

I feel very disappointed with the earrings I bought a few years ago. I wear them a lot. But today I dropped one and what I thought was the opal broke off. I went to pick up the pieces and realized the opals are plastic. Now what do I do with fake earrings? Granted, I did get them on sale, but they still cost a lot more than I would have paid for real opals on sale.

Avis,We are so sorry that this happened to you. We wanted to let you know the stones are not plastic. They are lab grown and that’s what we tell our customers. We would never dupe anyone with plastic. We stand behind all of our products. Lab grown opal is a Arne that is grown in a lab which in turn makes it harder than a normal opal that is usually a soft stone easily damaged. Lab grown opal is opal just grown in a lab and not in the outside environment.- Blue Lizard Native American Gallery
