I have attended Project Patch twice in my life. My first time i went, I was 13, and very much a people pleaser. I did what was expected of me, did my chores, got to level two, and graduated. But when I left, I felt like I left a part of me there. I went back again when I was 16, but I had changed. I had become less wiling to please, more rebellious and much less willing to follow rules and listen. This resulted in a lot more of a rough stay. While I can relate to some of the complaints posted on this review page, such as the lentils and being on "work crew", I realized that once I had started to accept that not everything is going to go how "I" want, I learned these were things that would help me in the long run. Life is not going to be all sunshine and roses, but its not all bleak either. You just have to focus on yourself and you'll find your way forward.

I had a great talk with Wynter. I could tell that she cared and put my mind at ease. I highly recommend Project Patch. Thank you.

When I left Patch I was a changed girl for the better, but only because I put in the work, no one had less to do with my success than the staff and peers. Oh wait, maybe they did, but only to show me ways I should never treat someone.

Patch is such a joke. they have the dumbest rules and the therapy they gave u was so bad. it didnt help me. they have this level system that if ur level one u cant talk to any other level ones. u can only talk to level twos or threes. but if there werent either then u couldnt talk to nobody. i went from 2019 to 2020, 9 months and 3 weeks. sure somethings were fun but the staff dont care about nothin but makin cash. nobody listens to ur opinions and they do the same things the whole program teaches u not to do. i got in trouble from apparently assuming and staff bashing cuz i had a big conflict with one of then and they were all like hey this kid came here a liar so hes probably lying. so they assumed i was lying and put me on 7 con work crew. such hypocrites. I say amen to most of the other negative reviews and if u really wanna waste a fat stack of cash on this place go for it. just dont be mad if the place doesnt help ur child at all.

I came out of this place much worse than I was when I went in. It's been 8 years since I've left PATCH and I still have traumatic flashbacks that make me break down. If you think your child will receive therapy here you are dead wrong. All the staff do is break kids down and they get a power trip out of it (except a couple staff that are actually friendly and make it somewhat able to deal with sometimes). I was given a "counselor" and we never once had a constructive session. She'd just sit me down, hand me a piece of DBT homework and tell me to do it. And I'm not even going to begin talking about the real traumatic things that happened here. There's plenty of references to them in the other reviews. I'll just say this: When I was at PATCH I never had the courage to tell my family about the abuse that was happening there. You know why? Because if they hear you tell your parents ANYTHING bad about PATCH on the phone they call it "patch-bashing" and they put you on consequence (work crew 3 days minimum) for it. I would never encourage a parent to put their child here. You are paying loads of money to give your child 1-2 years of traumatic experiences.
